Website Hosting Should Be Green

GreenGeeks Green HostingWhen I started my global graphic & website consulting company in Albuquerque New Mexico I wanted to have a few foundational elements going forward. These elements were values that I believe were important, and ones I hope my clients would resonate with.

The first was Content Management... Basically the client being able to update information on their website by themselves. This has always been an issue in the past, where client would send their updates to the webmaster, and then wait for them to update the website. With so many robust tools (Drupal, Joomla, WordPress, etc...) out there today, there is no reason that website should be setup that way anymore. So, I decided that I would have a core Content Management System (CMS) that I would offer all my clients... I went with Drupal 7, because of it's an Drupal open source CMS and it's extremely configurable and extendable. But, I'll share more about it in an upcoming article. I also work with WordPress (think blogs), depending on the clients needs, and I'm looking into Ruby on Rails (think Twitter), again depending on my client needs, but always with the understanding of freeing them up to interact with their website content and keep their people updated. We Do Branding
OK, you have the look and feel you desire for your new website, what now? How about business cards, brochures, posters that match the look. Now you are creating a brand that others can recognize as 'You'. The more you are consistent with your brand, the more other will instantly identify a logo, font color, etc.. to you and your products and services.

We Do Print
Print should go hand in hand to what you do online. Again, building a brand is important. We can offer these services or work with others to continue to build your brand as you gain more presence on the web.

We Do Ecommerce
If you are building a website there is a good chance that you are going to something at some point. That's not always the case, but if you want to sell products, services or both we can help. We use a powerful Open Source shopping cart, Ubercart. Again, because it's Open Source there are many apps that give you power. You can tie into real time shipping quotes. You can connect to payment systems from your your own merchant account to Paypal and others.

We Do Marketing
Location, location, location is important in where your physical store is, but on the web it's more about what you do to point people towards your website.
